Our brake caliper painting process

Perauto offers the only true turnkey service for brake caliper painting in the West Midlands. Some companies will paint the calipers on the car, others will ask you to take them off and post them to be painted. Our brake caliper painting service does it all, you give us your car and over the course of two days we will strip, prepare and paint your calipers leaving a finish that is as good as an OEM painted caliper. We will never paint the calipers on the car.

We strip them from the car, sandblast to bare metal, paint in your chosen colour then rebuild and refit. We have all of the specialist tools required to carry out the work including car lifts, advanced diagnostic computer for dealing with electronic park brake and ABS pumps and an expensive, pressurised hydraulic fluid bleed system that ensures the brake fluid is free of air. After 2 days we'll return your car with the calipers finished the way you always wanted.

You can have literally any colour you like – as long as there is a paint code for it – and any logo in a range of colours, we could even make something unique for you. We can also add in special effects such as coloured, heavy metallic flake or holographic metallic flake. If you have something specific in mind let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Painted brake calipers can transform the appearance of your car and it is one of the most cost effective customisations you can have done.

Strip

Braking components removed from the car, drained, oil galleries plugged, all components sand blasted back to bare metal, solvent cleaning prior to paint. Spring clips and pads retaining pins are cleaned and painted as necessary.

Paint

Pistons and machined faces masked off, paint applied in 3 stages – primer, base (colour) and clear coat. Any logos are applied before the clear coat for maximum durability. Only top quality Lechler paints are used and you can have any colour you like.

Refit

Calipers and carriers are rebuilt using new bleed valves. We use Ceratek grease for pad fitting and thread lock on fixings as needed. We can fit new pads and discs at this stage if you'd like them changed. The hydraulic system is then pressure bled, wheels torqued and the car road tested.
